Zarywacz raises the profile of the Huntington's Disease Association online
The web site of the UK's Huntington's Disease Association (www.hda.org.uk) has been given a radical design makeover by Zarywacz, the PR and virtual communications consultancy based in Devon and Berkshire.
"The HDA's stated intention is for their web site to be seen as an authoritative source of information on Huntington's disease." says partner Simon Zarywacz. "This is especially important at the moment while the BBC's EastEnders programme has a story line involving a character with Huntington's. So both we and the charity felt the time was right to raise the profile of the HDA online."
Zarywacz has responded by producing a friendly but professional looking web site offering news, details of fund-raising activities and medical research information. Links to the web sites of related organisations are also provided, making the site an invaluable information resource for members of the charity, health care professionals and the general public.
"We are delighted with the clean, colourful, easy-to-use design of the new site," comments Sally Phoenix, Fundraiser (Events and Awareness) for the HDA, "We were encouraged to provide as many photographs as possible, and this has certainly helped to give the site a reassuring human touch which is important. The feedback we've received from Association members has been very positive."
A registered charity with branches and support groups across the UK, the Huntington's Disease Association organises a variety of fund-raising events and activities throughout the year. Money raised by the charity provides support for those affected and their families as well as helping to finance research into the causes, treatment and prevention of the condition. The HDA also provides information and advice to families and to health care professionals.
Currently celebrating 10 years in business, partners Robert and Simon Zarywacz pride themselves on establishing long-term relationships with their clients and have maintained the HDA's presence on the web since the year 2000.
"We're naturally very pleased with the enthusiastic response to the new-look web site," says Simon Zarywacz, "The internet is a visual medium, which is why we were keen to include lots of images in the new design. The result is a web site that is both informative and has a personality of its own. And with our skill at creating sites that are 'search engine friendly', it means the HDA figures prominently on Google, Yahoo and other leading search engines. This was a crucial factor in the design of the site, because the charity is committed to raising public awareness of Huntington's disease in this country."
"The Huntington's Disease Association is also grateful for the guidance that Zarywacz has given us while we shaped our future plans for the web site," adds Sally Phoenix, "Their patience and willingness to explain technical matters and their understanding of how the internet works in the real world has been invaluable."
