National Insurance A form of tax collected by the Inland Revenue in the UK. Self-employed people pay this themselves, while employees and their employers both pay contributions.
Networking (business) The practice of meeting other business people to increase the number of personal contacts and attract new business.
Networking (computers) Linking together individual computers or devices to enable individual users to communicate and transmit data to each other.
Non-executive director A director on the board of a company who is not involved with the everyday running of the business, but brings independent or specialist advice which is of use to the company.
